FAQs
What can I donate?
We accept almost everything! However, we don't accept alcoholic
beverages, adult material or any illegal items.
How long will it take to pick up my gift?
We can normally help arrange pickup of your gift within 7-10
days.
What do I need to do to donate my gift?
We would like the box, user guides, etc, but if you do not
have this we might be able to accept it anyway.

No . We
cannot accept non-working items.
How does
your donation process work?
After you donate, you will receive
an auto response email that asks for more information about your
item. We will use this information to sell your item. The buyer
of your item will then arrange free pickup with you. It's that
easy!
Can you pick up gifts in all 50 states?
Yes. the buyer can pick up gifts throughout the continental US and
Hawaii. We will coordinate the collection of your item from
almost any location within the Untied States.
When can I receive a tax
deductible receipt?
Usually within 7-10 days.

Is my timeshare
donation tax deductible?
Yes, Center for Keratoconus (Gifts for
Sight) is classified with the
IRS
(click here) as a non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization and
registered as a charity with the
California
State Attorney General's office (click here).
So all donations are tax deductible. All
individual tax situations are different, so please check with your tax
professional to determine how you may benefit.
You will be given a
receipt and a formal letter of thanks
with our 501(c)3 Federal tax ID number
certifying that you have donated
your gift. This letter shows the IRS that you are authorized for a
charitable tax deduction.
How is the value of my gift determined?
In short, the
IRS allows you, the donor, to assess the fair market value of
the gift. All individual tax situations are different, so please
check with your tax professional to determine how you may
benefit.
We can refer
you to an IRS Publication which explains how the IRS requires
you to determine the value of your donated property; you may
review this publication on the
HTUIRS
web siteUTH.
If your
donation is worth more than $5,000 then you will need an
appraisal and a signed 8283 tax form for your tax purposes.
Please check with your tax professional to determine how to
arrange to have your gift valued by an independent appraiser and
provide you with all the necessary documentation to properly
claim your tax deduction.
